In the past week, a French publication had revealed that Apple will be announcing the 2017 edition of iPhone SE in this month. At that time, it was revealed that the smartphone would be costing around 399 euros, but there was no information available on its specifications. Today, an Indian tech site has revealed not only its leaked renders but also its technical specifications.
Apple began the manufacturing of iPhone SE in India from the month of May. Speculations are rife that the 2017 iPhone SE will be also built in India and it will be exported it to various countries of the world.
The Indian government had the introduced Goods and Services Tax (GST) in India on July 1. This allowed Apple to sell its devices with a price cut of up to 7.5 percent in India. Also, by letting India to solely manufacture the iPhone SE 2017, Apple can benefit from 10 percent tax deductions which is now levied on handsets that are imported in the country.
Apple iPhone SE 2 Leaked Renders
The leaked render suggest that the design of the purported iPhone SE 2 will not be very different from the original iPhone SE. The iPhone SE 2 leaked render shows that it will be equipped with slimmer side bezels whereas the upper and lower bezels are quite thick. This reminds us of the forthcoming iPhone 8 flagship that will be flanked with full-screen display with very thin bezels.
Apple iPhone SE 2 Specifications
The iPhone SE from 2016 was based on the older iPhone 6S. Hence, some of the specs of the iPhone SE 2 is speculated to be similar to that of iPhone 7. This indicates that its specs will not be similar to the upcoming iPhone 7S, 7S Plus and iPhone 8.
From the iPhone 7, it is expected to borrow the Apple A10 chipset and 12-megapixel rear camera. However, it is rumored to retain the 2 GB RAM that is available on the original iPhone SE and it will be coming in storage choices of 32 GB and 128 GB.
The iPhone SE 2 may either come with a 4-inch display or a slightly large screen of 4.42 inches. A second generation Touch ID sensor is speculated to be present in the lower bezel. In a bid to reduce cost, the iPhone SE 2 is expected to come with 5-megapixel selfie snapper which is available on the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. It will be arriving with iOS 11 pre-installed and it will be featuring a battery of about 1,700mAh capacity to keep the lights on. Other sources have revealed that it may cost around 399 euros (~$470).
Apple iPhone SE 2 Launch Date
Fresh information suggests that the iPhone SE 2 will be debuting in first quarter of 2018 in India. The upcoming iPhones are expected to debut in September and the highly anticipated iPhone 8 is rumored to be available for buying from October.
